Cupcake Date

On Tuesday the 13th I took my wonderful niece Sydney out for a Cup Cake Date. We started our date out at the Artful Potter's "Paint Me a Story" time. It was of course a story about cupcakes, which she is currently obsessed with.

Ready for our Adventure
So Big! It is happening she is changing from a toddler to a kid! I swear she has grown up and matured since Easter. As she was painting I remembered the first time I brought her painting last Spring to make mothers day gifts it is amazing how much she has changed. See pictures from her first painting trip HERE

Our Hostess reading Chef Joey's Cupcake Creation
Painting the sprinkles- It was so cool seeing her carefully use colors rather mixing them up, at Christmas she was still scribbling with paint.
Look how serious she is, notice her elbow
Painting the cup
"Look What I did!"
After painting we headed to the Cupcakery we shared two cup cakes. Right after this picture she shoved the whole 1/4 cupcake into her mouth.
I can't believe she is growing up to be a smart, talkative, adorable, fun and spirited almost 3 year old.

Help me FIGHT breast cancer

Hello Friends and Family,

I will be participating in my 5th Avon walk this summer. However, this year my Avon Walk experience will be different in a few ways.

1. I will be CREWING (that means being part of the massive support team that encourages, hydrates, feeds, and cheers on the walkers.) I am looking forward to being part of the support team this year.

2. I will be experiencing a new city! This year my sister and I will be crewing in San Francisco. It is her birthday weekend what a great gift to give to others.

Many things are not changing this year

1. Why I walk: In Memory of my Momma Lu (my Grandma on my moms side) she died of breast cancer when I was a baby.) I want to make sure that no other child grows up not knowing her grandma (or pa) because breast cancer cut their life short.

2. My Team: I will be crewing with Peggy's Spirit the same team I have walked with for 4 years.

3. My partner in crime: My sister and I will be crewing together. Please help us out in reaching our goals.

Breast cancer is a big disease, one that still affects far too many people, and I’m determined to do everything I can to help put an end to it. The money I raise will be managed and disbursed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those that most need it, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures. I’ll be just one of thousands of people raising awareness of the cause and educating even more people.

I can’t do it without your help.
I hope that I can count on your support.

Track Break

The week of President's Day I had 3 days off for a mini track break. Max took two of those days off with me. On Tuesday our little family headed to Valley of Fire, it was the first time is 4 visits that we had sunshine. We had a blast hiking and playing in the red sand!

I love my Lucy Girl! Like my new hat my hat disappeared and I had to buy a new one in the gift shop.
A few family photos

I love this one!
We brought coffee and tea to go for a yummy snack while hiking YUMMMM.
On the way home we were looking for some interesting things that were under Lake Mead and due to water levels are exposed. We did not find what we were looking for but we did find a little grouping of houses we did not know existed and maybe a new area to kayak.
On Thursday I was able to take Sydney up to Mt Charleston for an adventure. We took my friend Kelly and her son Ryan (a few months older than Sydney) along. We had a great time building snowmen and sledding. Kelly and I each went to the top of the big hill and went on a scary ride then we did safe sledding with the kids. The kids did their best to share the sled, well in the way 2 year olds share. After sledding we went to the Ski lodge and had Chili and hotdogs and ate our lunch outside since it was so warm. Overall a great way to end the week and recharge myself!
