4th Anniversary

I am a little behind but I will be playing catch up this week.

In October we celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary but the planning started months ago. I came home from work in May and Max handed me a mini album full of pictures. Each picture was related to a song. All by Jimmy Buffett to be specific the weekend before our Anniversary. It was a wonderful surprise. The morning of the concert I had a shoot when I cam e home Max presented the rest of his plan. We had lunch at Margaritaville and partied at the Street Party next to it.

While at the Street Carnival I loved everyone's crazy hats and bought a shark hat. We came home for a nap and while at home I stuffed my hat and added lights to it.

At the concert!

We had a great time being Parrot Heads for the weekend!

Track Break

The week of President's Day I had 3 days off for a mini track break. Max took two of those days off with me. On Tuesday our little family headed to Valley of Fire, it was the first time is 4 visits that we had sunshine. We had a blast hiking and playing in the red sand!

I love my Lucy Girl! Like my new hat my hat disappeared and I had to buy a new one in the gift shop.
A few family photos

I love this one!
We brought coffee and tea to go for a yummy snack while hiking YUMMMM.
On the way home we were looking for some interesting things that were under Lake Mead and due to water levels are exposed. We did not find what we were looking for but we did find a little grouping of houses we did not know existed and maybe a new area to kayak.
On Thursday I was able to take Sydney up to Mt Charleston for an adventure. We took my friend Kelly and her son Ryan (a few months older than Sydney) along. We had a great time building snowmen and sledding. Kelly and I each went to the top of the big hill and went on a scary ride then we did safe sledding with the kids. The kids did their best to share the sled, well in the way 2 year olds share. After sledding we went to the Ski lodge and had Chili and hotdogs and ate our lunch outside since it was so warm. Overall a great way to end the week and recharge myself!

Greg and Darlene Reception

Just a few of my favorites from the reception I used a little restraint we took over 600 pictures. It was a great party full of lots of dancing and partying! I danced a ton and Max took the camera capturing all of the special moments.

At first you just see a silly look on Lauren's face but what the look is saying makes the picture. ROck Lobster by the B-52's came on everyone jumped up to dance and she made this face and asked "Is this a cool song?"

Cake anyone
Max took this picture it was very important to him that Greg and Darlene had a chance to at least taste their cake before visting with all of their guest. At our wedding Max finally sat down to eat a piece of cake at the same time I had asked a waiter to pack up our cake so we could eat it later. As the waiter took the cake Max tried to stab witha fork and asked "what are you doing?" When the waiter replied "your wife asked me to pack this up." Max replied "Wife what wife?" THe waiter responded "The bride sir" Max gave up a nd went to greet more guests. AS THE BEST MAN HE MADE SURE GREG TOOK A MOMENT FOR CAKE!-Photo by Max

Here is my January layout as part of my challenge to take a photo of the day for 2009. I know I said this in December but it is wonderful to have preserved so many everyday memories that would never have been recorded, like my puppy putting me to sleep each night.
The photos are taken with a mix of 2 cameras Cannon XTi and Olympus Stylus 850 SW
The layout was completed with the following materials:

Family pictures and presents

We gathered at Billy's house for a family dinner more ham, he was missing pork abroad. He was so excited to have us over he ran out and bought a tree Sydney and Chrissy helped him decorate it.
Billy had fun opening presents, Sydney was a pro helping Uncle Billy and was very excited to open boxer short with a big "Oh Boy." It was so touching to watch Sydney with her Uncle Billy and to see how close they are.
Sydney was having a great time playing in the paper and helping out.
We all had a great laugh with the gifts Billy brought home, don't we look hot! The boys all said it was very comfortable the girls felt hot in our wraps. It was very interesting to step in someone else's shoes for a few minutes. I have to say I am glad for our freedoms and the comfort of my head being uncovered.
The most excited person was Max he loved his Ibrik (a pot used to make Turkish Coffee) he did not know I had asked Billy for this special gift. Billy was so cute he was worried that he was missing parts since the pot is so simple and made sure with the chefs at the hotel that it was the correct item. As you can see by Max's face it was a perfect item. It is amazing the difference in quality between the one Billy brought home and the one Max bought here a few years ago.
While Billy was in town we wanted to do family photographs. We had planned on an outdoor session but as schedules worked out we ended up meeting at Billy's house Saturday night it was challenging using a timer and getting all of us looking in one direction leading to a great time and lots of laughing, and tortured boys!!!!
