River Dog

A Post by Lucy the Wonder Beagle

Yesterday my humans loaded up their boats and put on their paddle clothes. I gave them my pitiful look and went to lay on the couch alone for the day.

Suddenly I heard a sound wait why does my walking buddy have the leash?

Oooooh oooh oooh I am going on a truck ride.

Then they took me to this big store (the boat store) and put this thing on me I looked like a lady bug we bought it and they told me I had my own PFD (puppy flotation device) I don't know what that means but I hopped back into the truck.

We went on a really long trick ride I was tired beagle surfing that far (riding on the arm rest.) We went over this big dam but they did not let me pee on it.

Finally I got out of the truck but I was to excited to pee there was this big water thing I went to check it out but first they put my lady bug vest on me. WHOA THAT IS COLD ARE YOU PEOPLE CRAZY???? With lots of coaxing they got me in the cold water and I did feel a little cooler, it was weird I floated.

Lu tried to get me into this big yellow and orange thing, with a little help I got in.

Next thing I knew we were moving! Look Now I am really a beagle surfer!

Every time I got splashed I tried to back into Lu she was muttering something about needing to paddle between the laughter while Max kept asking if I was okay "I was great the wind in my ears and so many new things to sniff!"

We paddled up a little way and they let me out to check things out. So many things to sniff I tried to climb a rock wall but Max saw a tail and freaked out something about a snake (it was a really a big lizard that they would not let me chase) I had so much fun in this spot I even wondered out for a swim.
After a bit they tried to get me back into the boat I stood firm on land but Max picked me up by my handle (hey who puts a handle on a dog?) We paddled into the fast windy area with waves that were splashing me it was so much fun I jumped out for a swim. Lu was laughing really hard and Max paddled really fast saying something about rescuing me. Then Lu picked me up by my handle and I climbed back into the boat, I was cold but it was fun.
On the drive home I was still really excited but kept falling asleep. When we finally got home I snuck into the bedroom and made myself a nest out of the comforter. I was too tired to jump onto the bed. Max found me sleeping in my hiding spot.

It was a great day to be a beagle stay tuned for more beagle adventures!

Greg and Darlene Reception

Just a few of my favorites from the reception I used a little restraint we took over 600 pictures. It was a great party full of lots of dancing and partying! I danced a ton and Max took the camera capturing all of the special moments.

At first you just see a silly look on Lauren's face but what the look is saying makes the picture. ROck Lobster by the B-52's came on everyone jumped up to dance and she made this face and asked "Is this a cool song?"

Max took this picture it was very important to him that Greg and Darlene had a chance to at least taste their cake before visting with all of their guest. At our wedding Max finally sat down to eat a piece of cake at the same time I had asked a waiter to pack up our cake so we could eat it later. As the waiter took the cake Max tried to stab witha fork and asked "what are you doing?" When the waiter replied "your wife asked me to pack this up." Max replied "Wife what wife?" THe waiter responded "The bride sir" Max gave up a nd went to greet more guests. AS THE BEST MAN HE MADE SURE GREG TOOK A MOMENT FOR CAKE!-Photo by Max

Sydney Sitting

Friday night I babysat Sydney I had heard that she has been in a helping phase. Aunt Lulu decided we were going to make dinner together. We had a great time cooking and talking. It is so amazing having conversations with her and interact with her 1 on 1.

First we made baby red potato chips. "Lu Lu cut, it dangerous" Sydney put the olive oil on the potatoes and helped sprinkle salt and pepper on them. She also spread all of chips on the tray. She tried to taste them before cooking and was not to sure. It was to cute at the beginning she tried to work with one finger but when I shower her how to dig in she got in there with both hands.
She took her job very seriously. She loved the chips with her chicken tenders. We put them on special bowls that had dip spots in the middle. I was shocked to see a little girl eat so much. As she ate the chips she kept telling me "I made chips, mmmm yummy."
While dinner was cooking it was time to make dessert. Sydney was very excited to make pretty brown paint, AKA brownies.

Pour it Mix it-look how serious she is After we poured the brownies it was time for the best part of baking emptying the bowl. How could you resist this face! She made sure she got every bit out of the bowl

After all that hard work it was time to eat, as you can see she loved the brownies. As we were making the brownies I told her they were healthy brownies so mommy and Patty cake could have some (No Pudge Brownies YUM.) When we talked to Tom (Daddy) she told him we made Broncoloies a cross between broccoli ad brownie. It was to funny to hear her tell about the broncolies

After dinner we had a fun doing a photo shoot, enjoy a few pictures of my little ham she even went and got her own props.
She went and got the basketball to sit on

Goofing off in bed After all of this fun I gave her a bath and she read me her favorite stories. It was so much fun to enjoy all of those little hugs, cuddles and laughs. I am the luckiest aunt in the world!!!

Greg and Darlene Getting Ready

Our friend Greg (the best man from our wedding) got married last weekend. I was lucky enough to follow both Greg and Darlene around as they prepared for the wedding. I knew many of my favorite photos from my wedding were behind the scenes stuff and I was so happy to be able to capture a few of those moments of the new couple. In the process I was able to learn my way around Dayton Ohio as I ran all over town shuffling people and trying to capture the next moment. In the next post I will post a few favorites from the reception. I videotaped the ceremony so I do not have pictures from that part.

To some a to short tux is trauma to the cool Greg it was just funny (he knew they would fix it by morning)
